Chordzy is still in beta, and this roadmap is the list of upcoming features we have planned. It is sorted by how close each one is: built and in testing, still in development, or further off.


## Built and in testing

These features are done, and we are testing them internally before anyone else gets them. If you want to help test them, [contact us](/contact).

- Mobile apps (iOS and Android). Phone and tablet versions of the app are in testing. They matter most on an iPhone, where Safari, Chrome and Firefox cannot read a MIDI keyboard.
- Upload your own sheet music. This is for pieces you already hold a license for, and it needs a subscription.
- Improv training (blues and jazz).
- Sight reading training. A free [sight-reading drill](/tools/sight-reading.md) is already on the website.


## In development

These features are in some form of development, but none of them is complete yet.

- Pop & modern music [licensing](/about/licensing.md). A modern song almost always costs money to license, and the deals we are working on start with showtunes and some limited modern music.
- Review mode, so you can study without a piano.
- Classical lessons (ABRSM-esque). ABRSM is the UK exam board whose graded exams many classical students work through, and these lessons would follow a similar path.
- Online lessons, connecting tutors to students.
- Advanced metronome support. A basic [metronome](/tools/metronome.md) is already free on the site.


## Further off

We hope to get to these ASAP. Promise.

But unless something changes, these features are further off than the two lists above.

- Acoustic piano support. An acoustic piano has no cable, so the app would have to guess which note you pressed from the sound. A MIDI keyboard tells it exactly.
- Additional instruments (guitar, drums, voice).
- MIDI 2.0. The newer version of the MIDI standard measures how hard you press a key in far finer steps than the MIDI 1.0 keyboards most people own.
