## Lesson list

The fastest way to learn piano is to play a real song first and pick up the theory when you need it. Chordzy's lessons work that way, and they cost nothing. The online piano learning happens in your browser, for students of all ages.

Start with [Adult Beginner Piano](/lessons/adult-beginner-piano.md): six short steps, from your first white key to playing Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star with both hands.

Each step is a page to read and a lesson to play. Press **Begin Lesson** and the app plays a few notes. You play them back, and it checks every note as you go. Leave halfway and the same button says **Resume Lesson** next time.

## What you need to start

You need a browser and ten spare minutes. A MIDI keyboard plugged into your computer lets Chordzy hear each key you press, and [MIDI keyboards](/help/hardware/midi-keyboards.md) says what to buy and how to connect it. The early lessons also work on the on-screen keyboard, so you can start today and buy a keyboard later.

You do not need an account to begin. Accounts are free if you want to save your progress.

Sit properly before the first note. [Proper piano posture](/about/proper-piano-posture.md) takes two minutes and saves your wrists in week two. Between lessons, the free [tools](/tools.md) give you a metronome, a virtual piano, a chord finder and the circle of fifths, and [sight reading](/exercises/sight-reading) is a portable exercise. When you finish a course, the [sheet music](/sheet-music.md) is waiting.
