Instruments

At the moment, Chordzy only supports MIDI instruments. You'll need a MIDI keyboard attached to your computer to use the app.

Midi-keyboards

Most MIDI keyboards connect via USB. However, Chordzy also supports Bluetooth & networked connection options.

Chordzy will synthesize your instrument (make sounds through your computer) as you play. If your keyboard has built-in audio output which you prefer, you can turn off/down the synthesizer volume in the Chordzy settings.

You can also pick from numerous different open-source/free synthesizers in the app. From grand pianos and electric keyboards all the way to bras and woodwind instruments, Chordzy has flexible audio output.

Virtual Keyboard

In some simple music, Chordzy lets you use an on-screen virtual piano keyboard.

This is a great way to start learning the piano before you make the investment in real hardware. You can get through the adult beginner piano course, for example.

Accoustic Pianos

An accoustic piano uses hammers to hit strings.

There's nothing quite like the feeling of playing a quality grand (or even baby grand) piano. Like any instrument, it can speak to the peformer.

Unfortunately, Chordzy doesn't support accoustic pianos (for now). It would make it harder to teach you, because the app would need to guess which note you pressed.

With MIDI keyboards, there's no guesswork. You connect the instrument directly to your device (via USB, bluetooth, etc.). When you press a key, Chordzy knows exaclty which key you pressed with zero delay. This means we can be confident that the app is gauging your progress correctly.
