About

Chordzy brings high-quality music/piano education online. The app is free, and it teaches piano the way a teacher does: it listens to what you play and tells you what to fix. Lessons and games are in it, and more.

We've only just begun. Every week, we release new content at chordzy.com, and most of it starts as a question from a student.

Overview

Want to just get started? That page has you playing in under five minutes.

Main Chordzy features include:

  • Lessons, with a growing catalog of detailed tutorials. The adult beginner course goes from finding middle C to reading both hands.
  • Exercises, like scales and other foundational skills. Every major and minor scale is here, with fingering, and the app grades each note.
  • Sheet Music, with a growing library of songs (with PDF downloads). Für Elise, the Moonlight Sonata, Canon in D, and the beginner standards.
  • Jams, where you can play in real-time with friends. Two pianos, two houses, one piece.

Our Beliefs

Every student should have access to affordable music lessons.

Teachers and tutors are the best way to learn music, and so are schools. But they are not accesible for everyone: a weekly lesson costs more than most families can spend on one child's hobby, and the nearest teacher may be an hour away. Books are effective, but their lack of interactivity limits their ability to teach. A book cannot hear that your left hand is late.

Other piano-teaching apps out there may have larger catalogs of songs than Chordzy. Liscensing is an expensive endeavor, which is one reason we offer subscriptions. So while you won't find many pop songs (quite yet), we first aim to provide a quality learning tool: one that grades timing and dynamics as well as the right notes, and that tells you what to practice next.
