Why This Song First

Why start here? Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star is catchy and familiar.

If you listen closely, you'll notice the "Alphabet Song" (a-b-c-d-... e-f-g-... h--i--j--k--...) and "Baa, Baa, Black Sheep" are actually the same notes.

With this beginner piano song, you'll first discover the melody by exploring the piano yourself.

Fun Facts

Technically Mozart didn't compose "Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star." Still, the classical composer's name is often mentioned alongside it. That's because Mozart turned this simple melody into not just one... but several timeless variations.

The original melody was a French pastoral song from 1740, and adapted by Mozart into 12 different variations.

By playing it on the piano, you're connecting to a long history of musical culture.
