The White Keys

In this first lesson, you'll learn the white keys on the piano.

You'll start where many songs begin: with the "C" note.

When you sit down at the piano, you'll almost always start with your right thumb on "Middle C".

Notice that the keys on the piano repeat the same pattern over and over. Each repition is called an "octave," and C is the first note in each octave. "Middle C" is the first note in the middle octave.

Let's not overthink it, though!

When you click play, you'll listen to some notes, and then try to play them back. It's super easy though! You'll just play you way up the white keys on the keyboard.
